Case Study with Eduverse

Project Goal:

This project was developed during 4-week hackathon in Berlin. Our goal was to use blockchain for positive change in education by developing a non-profit platform on  Solana. This way we aimed to connect teachers and students globally, eliminating geographical and financial barriers.

My Role and Responsibilities:

As the team’s designer, I was responsible for creating an engaging and user-friendly interface, ensuring our platform was both visually appealing and functional.

Context

In today’s education world, we often rely on big platforms and schools. But our project is different. Imagine a student wanting to learn something specific – like coding. Instead of going through a big platform, they can directly connect with a passionate coding teacher. No middlemen, no extra fees. It’s like having a one-on-one learning experience where the student is in control, choosing the teacher they want, breaking free from financial limits or location constraints. This project is changing the game, making learning straightforward, personal, and accessible to all.

My Design Process

First things first, I conducted a competitive analysis of other online schools. This involved studying and understanding the strengths and weaknesses of existing platforms to gather insights that would inform our design decisions.

I began designing by making simple sketches to plan how our platform would look. Teamwork was crucial, and with the developers, we turned these sketches into the actual design. This back-and-forth process ensured that our design not only looked good but also worked well with the technical side of things.

High Fidelity Prototype

As we refined the design, it evolved into a polished look with bold, modern cosmic vibes. I used glassy elements and big fonts to create an eye-catching, futuristic appearance that aligns with our platform’s innovative spirit. The transition from initial sketches to this high-fidelity design was a collaborative effort aimed at ensuring both style and functionality.

The Result

Impact:

During the hackathon presentation, our project generated significant interest from the audience. The level of engagement exceeded our expectations, indicating a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for our non-profit educational platform. Attendees were intrigued by the decentralized approach, the use of Solana blockchain, and the potential impact on the education sector. This interactive session not only showcased the relevance of our project but also provided valuable insights into the aspects that resonated most with the audience.

What is next?

There are range of questions to be considered:
How do we ensure the quality of the teachers?
What subjects would be offered?
What is the business model behind our platform? How can it sustain as a non-profit in a long run?
These questions serve as a reminder that our idea is a dynamic work in progress.Embracing these challenges, we are committed to dedicating the necessary time and effort to fully realize the potential of our innovative educational platform.
